Background

iEquip is a new ministry; however, its founder has partnered with Native churches by providing classes in leadership training since 1987. As the years unfolded in this ministry, he has continued to observe a great need for Biblical training and its relevancy in the cultural setting. This has resulted in transformed lives in Jesus Christ our Lord.

In meeting this need, training leaders via the traditional theological education faces three significant obstacles: (1) affording the high costs of Bible college or seminary education, (2) uprooting their families and community where often they add to its stability to move a long distance, (3) leaving an occupation when many depend upon them.

In recognition of this need, iEquip endeavors to provide sound Biblical training centered in God’s Word. It strives to equip God’s servants for ministry in their cultural setting. When Native leaders are prepared in this context, they lead with increase ministry effectiveness as they take the Gospel to their people while meeting the spiritual needs of God’s people.

Also, the broader movement of Native Christian churches across North America is faced with an ever-changing cultural landscape bringing new challenges for their ministries, especially the cultural milieu from which God’s people come to the pathway of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this light, iEquip is in a unique position to equip Native church leaders who will meet these growing ministry demands through the changing power of God’s word with the enablement of the Holy Spirit.
